A beautifully coloured korowai was gifted to Sr Marie Skidmore rsj for her commitment, faith and wisdom contributed to Catholic Education for almost six decades. The presentation took place at Cullinane College’s senior prize-giving celebrations last November.

Jane and Wayne Gillingham purchased the Sacred Heart Church building on Main St, Greytown, Wairarapa, on a whim in December 2023. Their plan was to restore the beautiful building and hope local church groups and other members of the community would want to use it again.

The urgency of getting more people involved in caring for, and protecting all of creation is increasing every year. In September, the Season of Creation was celebrated in the Hutt Valley in a number of practical ways.
The first Catholic Church in Manaia, South Taranaki, was built in 1886 and served the local Catholic people until 1968, when it was demolished. In 1968 a new church was built and opened and continued to serve the Catholic community.
