Brigidines say a final farewell after 112 years

The weekend began with a thanksgiving dinner attended by the St Bride’s Old Girls’ Committee, the NZ Brigidines and visiting Brigidines from New South Wales most of whom had previously lived and worked in New Zealand.

On government plans to boost GST

In the May budget this year the government is ‘carefully considering’ raising GST from 12.5 percent to 15 percent. It is calculated that this increase will provide an extra $2 billion to finance income tax cuts.

The group looked at the issues they would face as bereavement ministers: supporting a person deep in grief, the art of listening, the personal gifts needed for this ministry, resources available and how to support a family as they prepare a funeral service.
