WelCom is the monthly newspaper of the Archdiocese of Wellington. Print copies of the eight-page newsletter are free and available in parishes, and sent to parishes and schools in PDF form. The archive contains WelCom stories published from 2007 to 2026 (May).
As human beings we have an innate sense of what is right and wrong, what is just and unjust. This sense can be diminished over time, it can remain partial (just on our own behalf or that of my group) or it can become blind in certain circumstances. But it is there.
One of the problems I face is called aphasia which has the effect of memory loss. It frequently affects stroke sufferers and is often much worse than mine.
As a visitor and pilgrim from Sydney, Australia, I was privileged to be present on Saturday, June 7, for the blessing and naming of the Southern Star Monastery’s new Guest House. It was indeed a joyous occasion.
